Cookie Policy
Cookies on kotortravel.com: strictly necessary essentials, privacy-friendly cookieless Plausible analytics, Crazy Egg, Travelpayouts and GetYourGuide scripts — and how to manage your consent at any time.
Last updated: 16 July 2026
This Cookie Policy explains the cookies and similar technologies used on kotortravel.com and how you can control them. For how we handle data more broadly, see our Privacy Policy. This is general information, not legal advice.
How consent works on this site
On your first visit we show a cookie banner with three choices: Accept all, Reject non-essential, and Manage choices. All non-essential scripts default to off. Our traffic analytics is Plausible, which is cookieless and privacy-friendly — it sets no cookies, collects no personal data and does not track you across sites, so it runs without needing your consent and there is nothing to opt out of. Everything else — Crazy Egg, the booking-link-support (Travelpayouts) and newsletter (MailerLite) scripts, and the GetYourGuide Integration Analyzer — is not loaded at all until you opt in to the relevant category.
You can change your mind at any time using the Cookie Preferences control in the footer of every page. Your choice (and a timestamp and version) is stored in a first-party cookie (sw_consent_v1, ~180 days) in your browser, not on our servers.
Categories we use
1. Strictly necessary (always on)
These keep the site working and remember your cookie choice. They do not track you and cannot be switched off. The main item is the first-party record of your consent.
2. Privacy-friendly traffic analytics (cookieless — no consent needed)
We measure aggregate traffic with Plausible Analytics. Plausible is cookieless: it sets no cookies, stores nothing on your device, collects no personal data and does not track you across sites or build a profile of you. Because it accesses no information on your device, it runs on every page without requiring consent, and there is nothing for you to opt out of. It simply tells us, in aggregate, which pages are popular so we can improve the guide. See Plausible’s data policy.
3. Heatmaps & analytics scripts (consent required)
We use Crazy Egg to generate anonymised heatmaps and session recordings showing how visitors scroll and click, so we can see which parts of a guide are actually useful. It loads only after you accept analytics cookies.
4. Booking link support (also called affiliate / marketing — consent required)
We participate in travel affiliate programmes. The Travelpayouts affiliate automation script (loaded from emrld.ltd) and the Stay22 “Let Me Allez” script (loaded from scripts.stay22.com) help attribute accommodation and other bookings you make through partner links, which may help keep this guide free. They load only after you accept this category (labelled “Booking link support” in our banner; the underlying consent category is affiliate / marketing). Note that the booking links themselves still work whether or not you enable this category — disabling it only affects automated attribution scripts, not your ability to browse or book, and there is no extra cost to you either way.
5. GetYourGuide Integration Analyzer (loads after Analytics consent)
Every page can load a small script from GetYourGuide, our tour and activity affiliate partner. Its purpose is to let GetYourGuide confirm our links and on-page widgets are correctly integrated and working. It loads only after you opt in to Analytics, alongside Crazy Egg. Affiliate credit does not depend on this script — it comes from the partner_id in the booking-link URL — so gating it has no effect on commissions or the price you pay. GetYourGuide operates under its own privacy policy.
| Provider | Purpose | Category | Loads when |
|---|---|---|---|

| Travelpayouts automation | Booking/affiliate link tools & attribution | Booking link support (affiliate / marketing) | After you accept booking link support |
| Stay22 (Let Me Allez) | Accommodation booking/map link monetisation | Booking link support (affiliate / marketing) | After you accept booking link support |
| GetYourGuide Integration Analyzer | Verifies tour widgets are integrated | Analytics | After you accept analytics |
| Booking.com, Viator, GetYourGuide, RentalCars, Skyscanner | Set their own cookies if you visit/book on their sites | Third-party (their terms) | When you click through and use their site |
Third-party affiliate and booking sites
When you follow an affiliate link to a partner such as Booking.com, Viator, GetYourGuide, RentalCars or Skyscanner, you leave our site. Those partners set their own cookies and operate under their own privacy and cookie policies, which we do not control. Please review their terms on their sites.
Managing consent
- On this site: use the Cookie Preferences control in the footer of any page to accept, reject, or toggle Analytics and Booking link support (affiliate / marketing) separately. The GetYourGuide Integration Analyzer (category 5) loads with Analytics consent.
- In your browser: all major browsers let you block or delete cookies and clear local storage in their settings. Doing so may reset your saved preference, so the banner will appear again.
- Traffic analytics: our Plausible analytics is cookieless and collects no personal data, so there is nothing to opt out of — see Plausible’s data policy.
