How our affiliate links work, who we partner with, and why commissions never cost you extra or change our recommendations.
Last updated: 7 June 2026
Kotor Compass is reader-funded. This page explains, clearly and up front, how our affiliate relationships work. This is general information, not legal advice.
Some links on this site are affiliate links. If you click one and then book or buy on the partner's site, we may earn a commission. This costs you nothing extra — you pay the same price you would have paid anyway. These commissions help keep the guide free and independent.
We currently participate in affiliate programmes with, among others:
We may add or change partners over time. Affiliate links are typically marked with rel="sponsored" and open in a new tab.
When you follow an affiliate link and complete a booking on the partner's website, the partner records that the visit came from us and may pay us a percentage of the booking value or a fixed referral fee. The amount, if any, is set by the partner. You are never charged more because you used our link.
Affiliate relationships do not buy a recommendation. We choose which hotels, tours, transfers and partners to feature based on what we think is genuinely useful for a trip to Kotor — the same advice we'd give a friend. We do not accept payment for positive coverage, and a commission never changes our opinion of a place. Where we have reservations, we say so.
We are not a travel agent and we do not process bookings or payments. When you click through, you book directly with the third-party provider under their terms, pricing, cancellation rules, privacy policy and cookie policy. Please review those on the partner's site. See our Terms for more.
The affiliate attribution script (Travelpayouts) loads only after you accept the “Booking link support” category (affiliate / marketing cookies) via our banner or the Cookie Preferences control in the footer. The affiliate links themselves work either way — declining only affects automated attribution. Details are in our Cookie Policy and Privacy Policy.
